Exclusive Seasonal White Asparagus Menu at Brotzeit Singapore
Brotzeit has brought Germany’s “white gold” also known as the King of Vegetables - white asparagus - to Singapore.
The harvest season known as Spargelzeit occurs annually for just 3 months starting from April. During this time, you’ll see white asparagus on every menu in Germany. Treasured for its tender sweetness and juicy bite, the white asparagus is absolutely delicious.
Brotzeit serves white asparagus in true German spirit with an entire menu featuring the vegetable in various dishes. On the forefront of celebrating the white asparagus is The Spargelplatte, a hearty platter fit for a group of 4-6 people. The platter includes white asparagus in hollandaise sauce, served with black forest and gammon ham, smoked salmon, poached eggs and soft parsley potatoes.
Another highlight of the menu is Spargelsuppe - white asparagus cream soup topped with gammon ham and served with freshly baked brown bread. I’d go back just for this. So creamy and tasty!
For mains, choose between Grilled Beef Tenderloin or Pan Seared Barramundi paired with white asparagus.
End off on a sweet note with Zitronen Käse Creme Mit Spargel - deconstructed lemon cheese tart with white asparagus ribbons and raspberries. The different textures of this dessert with its creamy cheese and crumble at the bottom makes every spoonful a heavenly delight.
You can choose to pair your meal with white wine or German beer depending on your preference. Both go surprisingly well with white asparagus. Although I’m generally not too fond of beer, I found the lager really refreshing and go better with my meal.
