Singapore’s humble hawker culture gets a fancy gastronomic upgrade at PARKROYAL on Pickering with ‘Loco Local’ – an exciting hawker themed buffet experience. The buffet clebrates our nation’s local food scene with hawker favourites such as Hokkien mee, char kway teow, Singapore rojak, kueh pie tee, chicken satay, teh tarik and so much more.

Available at the hotel’s iconic Lime Restaurant for a limited period from 5 August to 1 September 2019, you can look forward to a four-hour feast of local culinary favourites prepared by Lime’s acclaimed team. Imagine a taste of familiarity and home, but infused with the finest ingredients and an abundance of crabs, lobsters and oysters on offer– that’s ‘Loco Local’!

There are a number of live stations where you can see the cooks at work preparing the dishes lives including fried carrot cake, lobster roti jala, satay, and teh tarik. There’s also a few DIY stations where you can make your own Singapore rojak and kueh pie tee.

Go straight for the Singapore chili crab – one of our nation’s greatest culinary inventions – which has a unique tangy sauce that isn’t too sweet and very well balanced with a tinge sourness. Definitely the highlight of the buffet in my opinion. Lap up the sauce with man tou buns!

The tek tarik (tea with milk and sugar) is also authentic and pairs very well with the buffet spread. Last but not least, end your meal with a selection of local desserts such as ice kachang and Nonya kuehs.
